Description:

Make sure you have a warm room for this Yogasync.  Working with awareness in the spine, a warm room will aid suppleness.  This Yogasync will gently ease you towards a strong supple, pain-free spine, and fantastic posture.

The first pose with legs up the wall introduces a small backbend to prepare the body for the rest of the sequence.  Half cobra and the locust variations that follow, will enable you to build strength along the spine and back.  In yoga, we always rest with a neutral spine in between, or at the end of backbends; Here we take a rest with Forward Facing Prayer.

Continue with the bridge pose and be perfectly content with your physical action, even if you don’t lift your hips as high as Sarsha in the video.  You will get there with continued practice.  The camel that follows is the same action, only now you are vertical, so take what you learnt in bridge and apply it to your camel.  Not sure your hips and staying above your knees?  Do camel against a wall and keep your hips pressing forward to meet it.

Use the supports in forward facing hero to keep your spine neutral, and then the forward extension and supported happy baby to act as counterposes to your backbends (e.g., forward bend action).  Finish off with the revolved belly to ensure the spine has moved in a  direction that is not just forward and backwards, and then choose to finish with flow relaxation pose, a supported backbend and chest opener, and then relaxation.

This Yogasync is designed for Beginners that have a few weeks of the Yogasync Beginners course, or equivalent, under their belt.  This sequence is not designed to alleviate chronic back pain that is recieving medical attention, though some poses may provide relief, if recommended by your Health Professional.
