In this restorative movement, where the body rises and falls over the props, it resembles this Flow brook. Here, the throat, heart, chest and abdomen are opened and relaxed. The heart rate will slow and internal organs are given more space and rested. The Nervous System is soothed, creating harmony between body and mind. Much of our everyday life involves activities where the shoulders and chest tend to slump forward, leading to problems in the neck and upper body. Resting in this position for a few minutes at a time reverses this tendency, promoting physical and emotional wellbeing.
